What is the Vinomofo Black Market?

Black Market deals give you exceptional value, only made possible if we don’t reveal the maker’s brand on site.

Wines that are bona-fide, 100% the genuine article. You just don't know who made them until they turn up.

But we can tell you a few things. Important stuff like what they taste like, when they were made and what from. And also what they've been scored by critics too.

Here's five deals we think you can't afford to sleep on, because they've all been scored 95pts or higher(!) by Halliday, with a massive % off RRP. These are top deals on the best Australian wines - trust us, they won't stick around for long.

Move over Bordeaux, we're drinking Margs cabernet.

96pts across the board, smiles around the tasting bench

Move over Bordeaux, we’re choosing Margs every time. And why wouldn’t we, when producers over there are crafting wines that reach new heights of elegance and luxury. Our buyer Matt is always in everyone’s good books for bringing in the goods from the region, and he’s got our tails wiggling with this one. This is classic, structured and totally delicious, with notes of dark, savoury plums, rich, velvety blackcurrants, immaculate oak and lush, rippling tannins. This cabernet is pure class, oozing opulence, and with that impressive lineup of scores, may well be the closest you can get to Bordeaux without getting on a plane.

A little nutty, a little nougaty, and plenty creamy. Guava and grapefruit shine through to give the acid profile a distinctly tropical feel. The creaminess of the palate meets the brightness and bristle of the acid half way making for a balanced, measured wine with a linear, lasting finish. This has high-tone freshness, and will cellar beautifully (if that's your thing).

Incredibly iconic Barossa shiraz. Globally sought after. Internationally renowned. Unparalleled craftsmanship. That is to say: this is a big deal. No two ways about it, this wine’s at the big end of town. Lots of fruit, lots of oak, lots of impact. Deeply mysterious in colour; flashes of inky blue and violet purple poking through what is a dark, ominous onyx. Ripe rhubarb and black cherry on the nose, with leather, cedar, and cigar box revealing themselves as the wines allowed to amble around the glass.

Sourced entirely made from an old vineyard which was planted in the 1920s, this is one of Australia’s most collected wines from one of the most famous wineries in the Barossa. Such incredible pedigree doesn't come cheap, but there's always the Mofo 'best value' promise. With the capacity to age for decades, you're not just buying this for your dinner party coming up- you're buying it for the special ocassions now and well into the future. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to buy not just a bottle of wine, but a piece of history. Seriously, mofo.

This is the wine that (pretty much) single-handedly put Bendigo back on the wine map. From an extremely low-yielding, premium vineyard at Maiden Gully, cellared to concentrated, complex perfection. This is a genuine opportunity for collectors, however seriously you take it.

Dense black fruits, herbaceous and spicy with a weighty, oak-supported backbone and soft tannins on the lingering finish. 15+ years of bottle age has brought a deep complexity and added all those wonderful tertiary notes that us aged-red-heads are constantly searching for. An early adopter of the screw-cap closure, this producer was looking firmly toward the future (even back in the early naughties), and the grace and elegance with which this wine has aged is a testament to that foresight. We're completely stoked with this drop. If it's not perfect, it's pretty bloody close.

There's an old saying in the wine industry: Margaret River producers 2% of Australia's wine but picks up 80% of Australia's wine awards. Premium wines like this demonstrate what all the hype is about.

Cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc & petit verdot. A classic Bordeaux blend, but don't be fooled, this wine is Margaret River through and through, medium-to-full-bodied, hyper-elegant, bursting with cassis/blackcurrant, plush tannins and a pillowy, lengthy finish that'll have you still tasting this on your tongue with your breaky the next morning. Mullets, Kylie Minogue, Errol Flynn, Margaret River cabernets: Australia's greatest exports?
