Why do we love this wine?
If you're amongst the Barossans as often as we are, you'll know that the terroir means a lot to the grape-growers and winemakers. When you have so much nuance in one region, you can't blame them for getting a little nerdy. John Retsas at First Drop was one of the first to take that terroir and show it off in the bottle. The expression off the Moculta vineyard was one of my favourites from the 2012 vintage, reminiscent of chocolate ripple biscuits, tobacco, and blackberry preserve. This is bloody awesome, and you're sure to want to share it with friends.
