Why do we love this wine?
In the words of the producer himself, this series, "revels in the divergence from the expected... crafting wines from varieties beyond those that have made the Hunter Valley world famous. Alternative varieties that are carving a niche for themselves, thriving and delivering with quality, consistency and verve". Well, this ripe little viognier is most certainly thriving. Tropical fruit, passionfruit and a careful herbaciousness mould together to create a mouth-filling, yet refreshing rendition of viognier. Ripe but not overly-so, this is a smart little wine.
