Why do we love this wine?

Italy’s leading grape varieties have an established home in the King Valley, including the ever-popular pinot grigio. This example of the grape is bright with citrus and pear on the nose and a crisp, mineral finish. When given more time to develop in the glass, the wine shares a greater depth to expression. Red apple, nashi pear, and hints of sherbet. From a weekend BBQ to a bowl of spaghetti marinara over candlelight, it’s a flexible food wine that is sure to please.

Defined and inviting aromas of melon, kiwi fruit, lemon juice, lemongrass, riverstone minerals, subtle white peach. A lovely aromatic profile of freshness and lift. The palate is vibrantly fruited with sweet pops of notes akin to the nose with white peach at the fore, followed by the lemon and melon notes. Nice length here thanks to a persistent citrus-laced acidity pulling it through. A lovely thirst-slaking style with pure, bright and defined fruit. Value for money. Delicious. - Tom Kline, Wine Pilot

Frequently Asked Questions

The King Valley's cool climate and elevation create perfect conditions for Pinot Grigio, allowing the grapes to retain their natural acidity while developing complex flavours. This region has become renowned for Italian varietals, with the continental climate producing wines that balance freshness with depth. The mineral-rich soils contribute to the crisp, clean finish that defines quality Pinot Grigio.

Serve this Pinot Grigio well-chilled at 8-10°C to highlight its bright citrus and pear characteristics. Allow it to breathe in the glass for 10-15 minutes to unlock deeper flavours like red apple and nashi pear. The wine's light body and fresh acidity make it perfect as an aperitif or paired with seafood, light pasta dishes, and fresh salads.

This wine's crisp minerality and citrus notes make it exceptional with seafood dishes, particularly shellfish and grilled fish. The fresh, juicy style complements Asian cuisine beautifully, especially dishes with ginger or lemongrass. Its versatility shines with everything from weekend barbecues to elegant pasta marinara, as the wine's acidity cuts through rich sauces while enhancing delicate flavours.

The 2024 vintage has been exceptional for Australian white wines, with ideal growing conditions producing wines with excellent balance and intensity. Cool, consistent weather during the growing season allowed grapes to develop complex flavours while maintaining bright acidity. This vintage showcases the tropical fruit and mineral characteristics that make Australian Pinot Grigio increasingly competitive with European examples.

This Pinot Grigio is designed for immediate enjoyment while its fresh, vibrant characteristics are at their peak. While it can be cellared for 2-3 years, the wine's appeal lies in its youthful energy and bright fruit flavours. Drink within 18 months of purchase to experience the full expression of citrus, tropical fruit, and mineral notes that define this style.
