Don't worry, try one of these

Why do we love this wine?

The altitude and climate of the Adelaide Hills lends its self perfectly to the production of crisp, fruit-driven, pinot grigio. There's a vibrancy and juiciness to the fruit that makes it feel like you're taking a bite from a freshly picked pear whilst the natural acid drives the palate forward and create a super-refreshing finish. Wonderfully balanced, beautifully poised and (hopefully) dutifully present, whenever you might need it.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Adelaide Hills' elevated altitude creates cooler temperatures that slow grape ripening, allowing Pinot Grigio to develop complex flavours while retaining crucial natural acidity. This high-altitude climate prevents the grape from becoming overly ripe and flabby, which is a common issue in warmer Australian regions. The result is a wine with the perfect balance of fruit intensity and refreshing crispness that defines quality Pinot Grigio.

While Italian Pinot Grigio tends towards mineral-driven restraint, this Adelaide Hills expression showcases Australia's fruit-forward approach with vibrant pear and apple flavours. The natural acidity remains prominent like its European counterparts, but the Australian terroir adds a juicy, almost bite-like fruit character. This represents the modern Australian interpretation - maintaining varietal integrity while expressing the unique personality of cool-climate Australian viticulture.

The wine's crisp acidity and fresh pear notes make it exceptional with seafood, particularly grilled prawns or pan-fried fish with herbs. The subtle spice elements complement Asian cuisine beautifully, especially Thai salads or Vietnamese spring rolls. Light poultry dishes, fresh goat's cheese, and even sushi work wonderfully, as the wine's refreshing finish cleanses the palate without overwhelming delicate flavours.

The 2024 vintage likely benefited from ideal growing conditions in the Adelaide Hills, with perfect timing of rainfall and sunshine to produce exceptional fruit quality. Cool-climate regions like Adelaide Hills can vary significantly year to year, and when conditions align perfectly, the resulting wines show enhanced concentration and balance. This vintage rating suggests the grapes achieved optimal ripeness while maintaining the natural acidity that makes great Pinot Grigio.

Serve well-chilled at 8-10°C to highlight the wine's refreshing qualities and crisp acidity. The light-bodied nature means it's best consumed young and fresh, ideally within 2-3 years of vintage to capture the vibrant fruit character. Use a standard white wine glass to concentrate the delicate aromatics, and consider decanting briefly if serving immediately after opening to allow the wine to express its full aromatic potential.
