Why do we love this wine?

The altitude and climate of the Adelaide Hills lends its self perfectly to the production of crisp, fruit-driven, pinot grigio. There's a vibrancy and juiciness to the fruit that makes it feel like you're taking a bite from a freshly picked pear whilst the natural acid drives the palate forward and create a super-refreshing finish. Wonderfully balanced, beautifully poised and (hopefully) dutifully present, whenever you might need it.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Adelaide Hills' elevated altitude creates cooler temperatures that slow grape ripening, allowing Pinot Grigio to develop intense aromatics while retaining crucial natural acidity. This high-altitude climate prevents the variety from becoming flabby or overly ripe, which is a common issue in warmer Australian regions. The result is a wine with the crisp, mineral-driven character that Pinot Grigio is celebrated for in its Italian homeland.

This 2025 expression showcases the modern Australian approach to Pinot Grigio, emphasising fresh fruit intensity over the more neutral, mineral-focused Italian style. The pear-like juiciness and vibrant acidity create a more expressive profile than traditional Pinot Grigio, while still maintaining the variety's signature refreshing qualities. It bridges the gap between Old World restraint and New World fruit expression.

The wine's crisp acidity and green apple notes make it exceptional with fresh seafood, particularly oysters, prawns, or white fish prepared simply. Its mineral backbone complements goat's cheese and herb-driven dishes, while the lemon zest character enhances Asian cuisine with citrus elements. The light body won't overpower delicate flavours, making it perfect for summer salads and antipasto platters.

The dual 90-point scores for both 'Killer Vintage' and 'Small Batch' categories suggest exceptional quality across multiple criteria. These ratings indicate the wine demonstrates outstanding varietal character, technical precision, and represents excellent value within its category. Small batch recognition particularly highlights the careful, artisanal approach to winemaking that often results in more concentrated flavours and attention to detail.

Serve well-chilled at 8-10°C to highlight the wine's crisp acidity and fresh fruit character - any warmer and the delicate aromatics will be muted. Use a smaller white wine glass to concentrate the subtle pear and citrus aromas, and consume within 2-3 years to enjoy the vibrant, youthful fruit expression. The wine's light body and refreshing finish make it ideal as an aperitif or with light meals during warmer months.
