This is the real thing. One of Australia's most loved chardonnays by media-types and punters alike. If you like your chardonnay, you can't go wrong here. This what happens when you do the basics really, really, really well. Exceptional.

Why do we love this wine?

This is a serious and sumptuous Tapanappa Tiers. A super high-quality oak regime has made this a generous and approachable wine. Luckily a cooler vintage has ensured that all the generosity of flavour and fruit is paired perfectly with refreshing acid line that rounds out the wine perfectly and has you reaching for another glass. If you like your chardy with plenty of body and flavour, get a bottle of this and make it your fancy-pants chardonnay to put away for the perfect moment.

Review

Halliday Wine Companion

"From the Tiers Vineyard planted in 1979. A third of the barrels used are new French oak. The cooler year renders a wine of tension and torsion, precision and finesse. It’s heavily perfumed, an invitation to drink lustily, with green apple, lime, ginger, cinnamon and faint alpine herb characters lightly dusted with clove-cedar oak. Just so. The palate has immense vitality and length, a pleasing, almost lightly hazy texture captured in ripples of briny acidity holding in more apple, cinnamon, clove and licks of peach and green almond. Lots going on here; an immensely satisfying and serious wine. And delicious, importantly." - Mike Bennie, Halliday Wine Companion
