'Pleasantly surprised' doesn't quite cut it. When I opened this I was blown away by the freshness of it. Two decades in and still packing face-scrunching finger lime and zesty lemon.

Why do we love this wine?
This has been beautifully preserved - lemongrass and beeswax mix with lanolin and river stone, wrapped tightly in peppy, persistent acid. There is some vegetal character, too, giving the wine a saline, savoury finish. Semillon is as semillon does: lives long and prospers.
