Don't worry, try one of these

Why do we love this wine?

Coonawarra sauv blanc? Is that a thing? Turns out it is and it should be. Coonawarra is technically a cool climate region, allowing for slower ripening and development of flavour. That’s pretty damn perfect for sauv blanc. This is super fragrant with lemon, lime and white peach. There’s passionfruit and nectarine on the palate with a bit of texture and crisp acidity to finish. It’s savvy b' through and through, we guarantee a good time with this on the table.

What is a Black Market deal?

Black Market deals are only made possible if we don’t reveal the maker’s brand on site. The wines are the genuine article – absolutely no cleanskins or fake brands, just dangerously good value. You won’t find out what it is until it hits your doorstep, but you won’t regret it. Just keep it on the down low.

Frequently Asked Questions

Coonawarra is predominantly famous for its Cabernet Sauvignon, making this Sauvignon Blanc quite unique. The region's cool climate and terra rossa soils, which are typically associated with premium red wines, actually provide ideal conditions for developing complex aromatics and maintaining crisp acidity in white varieties. This cooler environment allows the grapes to ripen slowly, building intensity while preserving the bright, zesty characteristics that make Sauvignon Blanc so appealing.

The wine's bright acidity and tropical fruit flavours make it perfect for seafood dishes, particularly grilled prawns, fish tacos, or fresh oysters. The passionfruit and nectarine notes complement Asian cuisine beautifully, especially Thai salads or Vietnamese fresh spring rolls. Its crisp finish also cuts through creamy goat's cheese or pairs wonderfully with herb-crusted chicken dishes.

The 2022 vintage in Coonawarra benefited from ideal growing conditions that enhanced the wine's aromatic intensity. This vintage showcases the perfect balance between the region's natural acidity and the development of tropical fruit flavours. At this drinking stage, the wine displays optimal freshness while the fruit flavours are at their peak vibrancy, making it an excellent example of how vintage timing can elevate Sauvignon Blanc's natural characteristics.

Unlike the intensely grassy, herbaceous style typical of Marlborough, this Coonawarra expression focuses more on stone fruit and tropical flavours with added textural complexity. The cooler Australian climate produces a more restrained, elegant style with less aggressive acidity but greater depth of flavour. The wine shows more nectarine and white peach characteristics rather than the classic gooseberry and capsicum notes, offering a sophisticated alternative to New Zealand's more punchy style.

This Sauvignon Blanc is designed for immediate enjoyment while its vibrant aromatics and fresh fruit flavours are at their peak. The wine's light-bodied structure and crisp acidity make it ideal for consumption within 2-3 years of vintage to preserve its signature fragrance and zesty character. While some premium Sauvignon Blancs can develop interesting complexity with short-term cellaring, this style is crafted to deliver maximum pleasure when young and fresh.
