Don't worry, try one of these

Why do we love this wine?

Mouth-filling and with an impressive amount of intensity, this terrific vintage is so  quintessentially Tasmanian and so quintessentially pinot gris that you’d pick this in a blind tasting nine times out of ten. What it does need is a spot on your table - ideally next to some seafood or a few moreish Italian starters - and a few friends to bask in its glory. You'll love the clean, fruitful palate and the succulent peach and citrus aromas - almost as much as you'll love the loooooong, fruit-forward finish.

Frequently Asked Questions

Tasmania's cool climate and pristine conditions create Pinot Gris with exceptional intensity and clean fruit expression. The island's maritime influence helps retain natural acidity while allowing the fruit flavours to develop complexity. This wine showcases the hallmark Tasmanian characteristics of bright acidity, pure fruit flavours, and that distinctive mineral backbone that comes from the island's unique terroir.

Serve chilled at 8-10°C to highlight the fresh peach and citrus aromatics. The wine's medium body and succulent texture make it perfect for sharing - decant it into a carafe to let it breathe slightly and showcase its impressive intensity. The long, fruit-forward finish means each sip evolves beautifully, so take your time to appreciate the layers of flavour.

The wine's mouth-filling texture and clean palate make it exceptional with fresh seafood like oysters, prawns, or grilled fish. Italian antipasti such as prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, and bruschetta complement the wine's fruit-forward character beautifully. The yoghurt notes also make it surprisingly good with creamy pasta dishes or risotto, while the peach and apricot flavours enhance Asian cuisine with subtle spice.

This 2024 vintage is drinking beautifully now and showcases the fresh, juicy style that makes Pinot Gris so appealing. While it will hold well for 2-3 years, the wine's charm lies in its immediate fruit expression and vibrant acidity. Drink it within the next 18 months to fully appreciate the succulent peach aromatics and that impressive long finish at their peak.

Unlike the richer Alsatian Pinot Gris or the lighter Italian Pinot Grigio styles, this Tasmanian expression strikes a perfect middle ground with medium body and impressive intensity. The clean, fruitful palate shows more concentration than typical New World versions, while maintaining the fresh, approachable character that makes Pinot Gris so versatile. It's complex enough for wine enthusiasts yet accessible for casual drinkers.
