This crew have been nailing Clare Valley riesling for over two decades, and this 2013 Watervale shows exactly why their reputation is so formidable. Sourced from a classic Watervale vineyard with a crucial westerly aspect, this is a textbook expression of one of Australia's greatest riesling sites. Oh, and the age. It's been carefully sequestered away for over a decade, growing, developing, softening. What we have now is a textural delight, plenty of acid and minerality has been retained in the most special way, and the interplay with the fruit is what aged riesling is all about.
