Why do we love this wine?
This vintage proves why it’s iconic. Despite the age, the nose is alive with lime juice and zest, orange blossom, fennel spice, a flicker of that unmistakable mineral crunch - think sea shells and wet river stones. On the palate it’s delicate yet buzzing with energy, vibrant acidity cutting through pure citrus fruit. Lime and lemon notes take centre stage, but there’s also a savoury thyme edge that makes it even more food friendly. The finish is long, dry, and chalky, leaving your mouth watering for another sip. In a vintage that challenged plenty of producers, Steingarten barely broke a sweat - precise, pure, and utterly delicious. This is Aussie riesling royalty.
