Steely and precise pinot grigio thats light bodied, aromatic, and offers up high-tone citrus and pulpy green fruits. Its lively and vibrant in the mouth; a certifiable fiesta of flavour and energy. Some tropical notes sit neatly framed by steely acid structure. Excellent grigio - drinking beautifully but don't be afraid to lay a bottle or two down.

Why do we love this wine?

The King Valley - a little piece of Italy set amongst the hills of North East Victoria. With growers in the region showcasing their Italian heritage you can find some grandioso examples of pinot grigio and what we have here is no exception. This gorgeous grigio is a wonderful example of classic Italian style meets modern Aussie execution. Bright and refreshing, absolutely full to the brim with the juiciest of juicy nashi pears, citrus punch and subtle spice, alpine herbs intertwined with floral blossom notes. A gorgeous drop that is the perfect bottle to whip out at a dinner party yet equally pleasurable on a quiet night in.

Frequently Asked Questions

King Valley's unique terroir combines Italian winemaking heritage with Australian innovation, creating pinot grigios that bridge Old World elegance and New World fruit expression. The region's elevation and cool climate conditions mirror northern Italian growing regions, allowing for the development of those characteristic alpine herb notes and mineral complexity. This particular wine showcases how Australian producers have mastered the Italian style while adding their own vibrant fruit character.

Traditional Italian pinot grigio emphasises crisp minerality and restraint, while Australian winemaking often highlights bold fruit flavours and accessibility. This wine successfully marries both approaches - maintaining the classic Italian backbone of citrus and herbs while amplifying the juicy nashi pear and floral elements that Australian consumers love. The result is a wine that's both sophisticated and immediately enjoyable.

The wine's bright acidity and citrus-pear profile make it exceptional with seafood, particularly grilled prawns, fish tacos, or sushi. Its alpine herb notes complement Mediterranean dishes like caprese salad or herb-crusted chicken, while the juicy fruit character pairs beautifully with Asian cuisine including Thai salads or Vietnamese spring rolls. The wine's versatility also makes it perfect as an aperitif with cheese and charcuterie.

Serve well-chilled at 8-10°C to showcase the wine's crisp acidity and fresh fruit character. As a current vintage, it's designed for immediate enjoyment while the fruit flavours are at their peak vibrancy. Store bottles on their side in a cool, dark place, and once opened, refrigerate and consume within 2-3 days to maintain those bright citrus and pear notes that define this style.

A 'Dangerous Value' rating indicates exceptional quality-to-price ratio - essentially a wine that punches well above its weight class. This suggests you're getting boutique-level winemaking and flavour complexity at a price point that makes it dangerously easy to buy multiple bottles. Combined with the 90-point boutique producer rating, it signals this is restaurant-quality wine available at retail prices that won't break the bank.
