Don't worry, try one of these

Why do we love this wine?

A classic Rhône-style white blend made right here in Australia. Aged on lees in stainless steel, the wine is pure of fruit but laden with texture and tension. You’ll find stone fruit, minerality and even a bit of viscosity in this one. This is the kind of wine that builds in confidence with some time in bottle, so it’s a pretty big deal to have this one land with seven years to show. Pretty neat little number for your weeknight’s desires.

Frequently Asked Questions

This 2015 vintage has developed remarkable complexity through bottle maturation, transforming from a fresh young wine into something with greater depth and confidence. The extended ageing has allowed the stone fruit flavours to integrate beautifully with the wine's natural minerality, while the lees ageing in stainless steel has preserved the purity of fruit whilst building textural richness. Seven years is significant for this style - most Rhône-style whites are consumed young, making this a rare opportunity to experience how Viognier and Marsanne evolve together.

This classic Rhône Valley combination brings together Viognier's aromatic intensity and stone fruit character with Marsanne's structural backbone and mineral drive. Viognier provides the perfumed apricot and citrus notes you'll taste, while Marsanne contributes the wine's tension and age-worthiness. The blend creates a more complete wine than either variety could achieve alone - Viognier's tendency towards richness is balanced by Marsanne's natural acidity and mineral precision.

Lees ageing in stainless steel creates a fascinating contrast - it builds creamy texture and viscosity without the vanilla or oak flavours you'd get from barrel fermentation. The dead yeast cells release proteins and mannoproteins that give the wine its distinctive mouthfeel and subtle complexity. This technique preserves the bright fruit character whilst adding layers of texture that make the wine feel more substantial and food-friendly than typical crisp whites.

The wine's stone fruit flavours and textural richness make it perfect for dishes with similar weight and complexity. Think roasted chicken with herbs, creamy seafood risotto, or even mildly spiced Asian cuisine where the Viognier's aromatic qualities can complement fragrant ingredients. The minerality and tension from the Marsanne also make it excellent with fresh oysters or grilled fish, while the wine's viscosity can handle richer preparations like lobster thermidor.

At seven years old, this wine is hitting its sweet spot and drinking beautifully now, having developed the complexity and confidence mentioned in the tasting notes. While Viognier-Marsanne blends can continue evolving for another 2-3 years, the stone fruit and mineral characters are perfectly integrated at this stage. The wine's texture and tension suggest it's reached optimal drinking condition - any longer and you risk losing the vibrant fruit character that makes this style so appealing.
