After working for years under the tutelage of legendary vigneron Chris Alheit, Franco has struck out on his own (he also spent some time at Vasse Felix in Margaret River). Named after Franco’s wife Lindi, this white blend of chenin, verdelho and grenache blanc, is all hand harvested, fermented separately, and then sent to large format French oak for nine months. The nose elicits aromas of pear, nectarine, orange and lemon, along with a bit of herbal tones and flintiness. The citrus-driven palate has a creamy texture, a feel of wet stone and fine acidity on the finish. This is a prime example of why South Africa is so renowned for its white blends.
