Why do we love this wine?
Skalielop is a vineyard that was planted on shallow shale soils in the Paardeberg back in 1985. The wine expresses potpourri, white and yellow fruit plus a little white pepper on the nose. The palate has excellent fruit density matched by bright acidity, the finish long and dry. There’s great focus and flavour intensity, along with a sense that this will age superbly.

Intensely focused and mineral, with green apple and citrus sitting over a distinctive shale-driven, saline character. The palate is taut and beautifully structured, combining concentration with electric acidity and exceptional precision. Serious, ageworthy Chenin Blanc with remarkable depth.
