Why do we love this wine?
Planted in 1968, this vineyard between Malmesbury and Darling is over 50 years old. The iron and clay rich soils enable a striking display of aromatics in the form of fresh flowers and stone fruits plus some leesy complexity and spice. The palate is rich and relatively thick textured – great depth of flavour with a gently savoury finish.

VinoMasters
From 1968 old vines on deep iron-rich clay soils. Extremely limited (around 900–1,000 bottles) after wind reduced yields. Whole-bunch pressed and aged in old French oak. Richer and more powerful than usual: golden and yellow fruit, apple, peach, fennel, lemon rind and herbal spice with stony, saline depth. Full, almost viscous texture yet vivid acidity and a long, dry, savoury finish. Muscular but precise. Vino Masters Score: 96 / 100 ★★★★★ A standout single-vineyard Chenin of real presence and density.
