Don't worry, try one of these

Why do we love this wine?

The nose is bright and inviting - ripe orchard fruits, white peach, fig and floral lift, layered with that classic regional cashew, struck flint and a hint of oak vanillin. The palate is complex yet finely balanced: stone fruit depth, a touch of nuttiness, and beautifully judged oak, all carried by a line of taut acidity. It finishes tight and long, with a line of citrus and mineral drive that lingers. Still youthful now, this gorgeous chardonnay will continue to evolve gracefully over the next 4-5 years, revealing even greater depth and complexity with time. Or you could just drink it... it's looking good already.

Frequently Asked Questions

The exceptional ratings (96pts Wine Orbit, 95pts Ray Jordan) reflect this wine's masterful balance between power and finesse. The Yarra Valley's cool climate allows for extended ripening, developing complex stone fruit flavours while retaining crucial acidity. The judicious oak treatment adds vanilla and cashew notes without overwhelming the fruit, creating the layered complexity that critics prize in premium Australian Chardonnay.

Yarra Valley's cool climate and diverse soils create perfect conditions for elegant Chardonnay production. The region's temperature variations allow grapes to ripen slowly while maintaining natural acidity, resulting in wines with both intensity and freshness. The struck flint and mineral characters in this wine are classic hallmarks of Yarra Valley's unique terroir, which has earned international recognition for producing some of Australia's finest cool-climate Chardonnays.

Serve this medium-bodied Chardonnay at 10-12°C in a large bowl-shaped glass to allow the complex aromatics to develop. The wine's rich texture and oak integration make it perfect for pairing with creamy seafood dishes, roasted chicken, or aged cheeses. Decanting isn't necessary, but allowing it to breathe for 15-20 minutes will help the stone fruit and floral notes fully express themselves.

This Chardonnay offers immediate drinking pleasure with its vibrant fruit and balanced oak, but it's built for evolution. The wine's taut acidity and structured palate suggest it will develop greater complexity over the next 4-5 years, with the oak integrating further and tertiary flavours emerging. Premium Yarra Valley Chardonnays like this often reward patience, developing honeyed and nutty characteristics that complement the existing stone fruit core.

The wine's combination of stone fruit richness, vanilla oak, and mineral acidity makes it versatile with food. Try it with lobster thermidor or creamy risotto to match its texture, or pair with roasted pork tenderloin where the fruit and oak complement the meat's richness. The citrus finish and mineral drive also work beautifully with fresh oysters or seared scallops, creating elegant flavour bridges between the wine's complexity and the seafood's delicacy.
