A chardonnay for those that like to think about what they drink. A textural and inviting wine with stone fruits, florals and persistent acid all supported by a long, creamy finish. This will be drinking beautifully from now until 2030.

Don't worry, try one of these

Why do we love this wine?

Complex without going over anyone's head. Stone fruit, orange blossom and a subtle baking spice to match the brioche notes. Just because this wine is subtle that doesn't mean it's not flavoursome. It's modern, it's old-school, it's bright, it's creamy, it's just really really good Yarra Valley chardonnay. You don't need to write a thesis on this wine to enjoy it, but you could if you wanted to.

Frequently Asked Questions

This wine perfectly balances the Yarra Valley's cool climate advantages with traditional winemaking techniques. The region's elevation and maritime influence create ideal conditions for developing complex stone fruit flavours while maintaining natural acidity. The brioche notes suggest partial malolactic fermentation and lees stirring, techniques that add texture without overwhelming the fruit's natural elegance.

This duality comes from skilled winemaking that preserves the grape's natural acidity while adding textural complexity through oak treatment and lees contact. The bright orange blossom notes reflect the wine's fresh acidity, while the creamy mouthfeel develops from extended contact with yeast lees during maturation. This balance is a hallmark of premium Chardonnay production.

James Halliday's 95-point score places this wine in the 'outstanding' category, representing exceptional quality that's rare to find. Halliday's scoring system is particularly respected for Australian wines, and scores above 94 points indicate wines with remarkable complexity, balance, and ageing potential. This rating suggests the wine will develop beautifully over the next 5-8 years.

Serve this wine at 10-12°C to allow its complex aromatics to shine while maintaining the creamy texture. The full body and baking spice notes make it perfect for pairing with roasted chicken, lobster with butter sauce, or aged hard cheeses. Decanting isn't necessary, but opening 30 minutes before serving will help the wine express its stone fruit and orange blossom characteristics.

Single vineyard designation means all grapes come from one specific site, allowing the wine to express the unique terroir of that particular location within the Yarra Valley. This creates greater consistency and character definition compared to regional blends, as the winemaker can showcase the specific soil, aspect, and microclimate influences. It typically results in more distinctive and memorable wines that truly reflect their place of origin.
