This isn’t just any chardonnay — this is the first ever release from a single, hand-tended Eden Valley block that’s been years in the making. Impeccable fruit + some serious winemaking chops = really really really good wine. A stunner that perfectly balances freshness, texture and pure class. We haven't seen a debut this good since Scotty Boland.

Don't worry, try one of these

Why do we love this wine?

In the glass, it glows pale gold with a hint of green - like sunshine just peeking through clouds. Stick your nose in and you’re met with cut white peach, a hint of spice, and a like of vanilla and clove from the oak. On the palate, it hits that sweet spot between plush and precise: nectarine and grapefruit take centre stage, all wrapped in a creamy, layered texture that glides into a long, citrusy finish. It’s bright, elegant and beautifully composed - a chardonnay that feels confident but not cocky. It’s ready to impress right now, but if you’ve got the patience, tuck a few away and let it show you what time and Eden Valley magic can really do.

Frequently Asked Questions

Eden Valley's high altitude and cool climate create perfect conditions for Chardonnay, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly while retaining natural acidity. The region's diurnal temperature variation - warm days and cool nights - helps develop complex flavour compounds while preserving the bright citrus notes evident in this wine. This terroir produces Chardonnays with exceptional balance between richness and elegance, making Eden Valley one of Australia's most respected cool-climate regions.

The vanilla and clove notes indicate careful oak integration, likely from French oak barrels that add complexity without overwhelming the fruit. This oak treatment creates the wine's creamy, layered texture while contributing subtle spice elements that complement the stone fruit flavours. The oak also provides structure for ageing potential, allowing the wine to develop greater depth and integration over time while maintaining its elegant profile.

The wine's medium body and citrusy finish make it excellent with seafood dishes like pan-seared scallops or lobster thermidor, where the creamy texture matches rich sauces. The nectarine and grapefruit notes pair beautifully with roasted chicken or pork tenderloin, while the vanilla undertones complement dishes with cream-based sauces. The wine's balanced acidity also cuts through rich cheeses like brie or camembert.

The 2019 vintage in Eden Valley benefited from ideal growing conditions with consistent rainfall during winter and spring, followed by warm, dry conditions during harvest. This allowed for extended hang time, developing concentrated flavours while maintaining natural acidity - evident in this wine's perfect balance between richness and brightness. The vintage produced wines with exceptional structure and ageing potential, explaining the 90-point rating and 'Small Batch' designation.

While drinking beautifully now, this Eden Valley Chardonnay has the structure to cellar for 5-8 years, developing greater complexity and integration. Over time, the bright citrus notes will mellow into honeyed characters, the oak will become more seamlessly integrated, and secondary flavours like nuts and brioche may emerge. The wine's natural acidity and medium body provide the backbone for graceful ageing, transforming from its current vibrant style into something more nuanced and sophisticated.
