Crafted by the Dal Bianco family, who’ve been perfecting their sparkling game since 1946, this Extra Brut shows precision and poise in every sip. Made from hand-selected grapes and vinified by gravity to preserve purity, it’s bone-dry and elegant, with fresh citrus, green apple and a touch of white blossom. The mousse is fine, the structure gentle but present, and the finish clean and lingering. This is Prosecco at its most polished - graceful, modern, and unmistakably Italian. Perfect for oysters, aperitivo, or any moment that deserves a little sparkle.

Frequently Asked Questions

This is a single vineyard Prosecco from the prestigious UNESCO-listed Conegliano-Valdobbiadene region, crafted by a three-generation family producer. Unlike mass-produced Proseccos that blend fruit from multiple sources, this wine showcases pure Glera grapes from one exceptional site in Gorgo al Monticano. The Extra Brut style means it contains minimal residual sugar, allowing the natural fruit flavours and terroir to shine through without sweetness masking the wine's true character.

Extra Brut indicates this Prosecco contains less than 6 grams of residual sugar per litre, making it one of the driest styles available. This creates a crisp, clean palate that emphasises the wine's natural acidity and allows the delicate blossom, pear, and white peach notes to express themselves without any cloying sweetness. The result is a more sophisticated, food-friendly sparkling wine that pairs beautifully with oysters, sushi, or can be enjoyed as an elegant aperitif.

The Conegliano-Valdobbiadene region received UNESCO World Heritage status in 2019, recognising its unique landscape of steep hillside vineyards and centuries-old winemaking traditions. This designation protects the area's distinctive terroir - the combination of soil, climate, and topography that gives Prosecco its character. Wines from this region, like Masottina's offering, benefit from optimal sun exposure on the rolling hills and the cooling influence of the nearby Alps, creating ideal conditions for developing the complex aromatics and fine bubbles that define premium Prosecco.

Serve this Extra Brut Prosecco well-chilled at 6-8°C in tall, narrow flutes or tulip-shaped glasses to preserve the delicate bubbles and concentrate the aromatics. The light-bodied, fruit-forward style makes it perfect as an aperitif, but its dry profile also pairs wonderfully with seafood, light pasta dishes, or soft cheeses. Open the bottle gently to preserve the fine mousse - the pressure should release the cork with a soft whisper rather than a loud pop, maintaining the wine's elegant effervescence.

Single vineyard means all the grapes come from one specific plot of land - in this case, Gorgo al Monticano - rather than being blended from multiple sites across the region. This approach allows the unique characteristics of that particular terroir to shine through, creating a wine with distinct personality and sense of place. The focused fruit expression and consistent quality you get from single vineyard wines often justifies their premium positioning, as the winemaker can showcase the best attributes of their most prized vineyard sites.
