Don't worry, try one of these

Why do we love this wine?

A rosé that's all about fun in the sun and light summer dishes. The use of cabernet franc is a bit of a masterstroke. Fruit forward, with aromatic raspberries, strawberries and cranberries, the franc brings a savoury edge, subtle herbaceous notes and gentle grippiness to the palate that make this an intense, albeit easy drinking, summer smasher. You'd pretty much have to have this one under lock and key if you want your stocks to last through the warmer months, but why would you? A wine that's meant to be generously shared and throughly enjoyed - no need to be precious here.

Frequently Asked Questions

The secret weapon here is cabernet franc, which is quite unusual for rosé production. While most rosés rely purely on fruit-forward characteristics, the franc adds a sophisticated savoury dimension with subtle herbaceous notes and gentle tannins. This creates complexity that bridges the gap between easy-drinking summer wines and more serious bottles, making it both approachable and intriguing.

Margaret River's maritime climate provides the ideal conditions for rosé production, with cool ocean breezes moderating temperatures and extending the growing season. This allows grapes to develop intense fruit flavours while retaining crucial acidity, which is essential for that crisp, refreshing character. The region's reputation for premium winemaking, evidenced by this Five Star Halliday rated winery, ensures meticulous attention to detail in crafting elegant rosés.

The wine's fruit-forward nature with raspberry and strawberry notes makes it brilliant with fresh seafood, particularly prawns or salmon. The savoury herbaceous edge from the cabernet franc allows it to handle more substantial fare like grilled chicken or Mediterranean dishes with herbs. Light summer salads, charcuterie boards, and even spicy Asian cuisine work beautifully, as the wine's crisp acidity cuts through richness while complementing diverse flavours.

This 2024 rosé is designed for immediate enjoyment and sharing, capturing the essence of fresh, vibrant fruit at its peak. Rosés are generally made to showcase primary fruit characteristics rather than develop complex secondary flavours through ageing. The wine's light-bodied, crisp style will be at its most expressive now, delivering maximum refreshment and that intended 'fun in the sun' experience.

Estate grown signifies complete control from vine to bottle, meaning the winery owns the vineyard and oversees every aspect of grape production. This allows for precise timing of harvest, selective picking, and immediate processing to preserve delicate rosé characteristics. The result is typically higher quality fruit with better flavour concentration and consistency, as the winemaker can tailor vineyard practices specifically to their rosé style rather than purchasing grapes from external sources.
