There's two types of yummy wines - ones you want to keep to yourself and ones you want to share with anyone and everyone. This is definitely the latter. Dry, crisp, clean but not without a fruit and palate weight. If the temperature even looks like reaching 20°, we're reaching for this.

Why do we love this wine?

We normally try and avoid hyperbole here at the 'Fo, that said, 4.4 Vivino is an UNREAL score for an Aussie rosé. There's reasons for it too, this wine is sitting beautifully in the 'goldilocks zone', not too fruity, not too dry, just right. The use of grenache brings a spice and crunch to the fruit while the natural acidity allows this bad boy to remain refreshing and extremely moreish. The kind of wine that makes you want to throw a party just to enjoy it. Only question now is who's hosting

Frequently Asked Questions

This rosé hits the perfect balance that many Australian rosés struggle to achieve - it avoids being overly fruity or bone dry, landing in what's described as the 'goldilocks zone'. The grenache grape brings distinctive spice and textural crunch that elevates it beyond typical fruit-forward rosés, while maintaining the natural acidity that keeps it refreshing. This combination of complexity and drinkability is rare in the Australian rosé market, explaining why it's earned such outstanding recognition from wine drinkers globally.

Grenache is an ideal grape for rosé production because it naturally develops beautiful colour extraction and maintains bright acidity even in warm climates like the Barossa. In this wine, the grenache contributes a distinctive spicy backbone and textural crunch that differentiates it from softer, more delicate rosé styles. The grape's thick skins provide just enough tannin structure to give the wine body without overwhelming the delicate fruit flavours, creating that perfect balance between refreshment and complexity.

The cranberry and white peach flavours, combined with the wine's crisp acidity and light spice, make it incredibly versatile with food. It's excellent with fresh seafood like prawns or salmon, where the acidity cuts through richness while the fruit complements the natural sweetness. The rose petal aromatics and dry finish also pair beautifully with Mediterranean dishes, charcuterie boards, and even spicy Asian cuisine where the wine's refreshing qualities can cool the palate between bites.

The 2023 vintage in the Barossa was characterised by cooler conditions that helped preserve the natural acidity crucial for quality rosé production. These conditions allowed for extended hang time, developing complex flavour compounds while maintaining freshness - exactly what you want in a premium rosé. The vintage's moderate temperatures also meant the grenache could develop its characteristic spice and structure without losing the delicate fruit aromatics that make this wine so appealing and food-friendly.

This rosé strikes that rare balance of being sophisticated enough for wine enthusiasts yet approachable enough for casual drinkers - the hallmark of great party wines. Its 'moreish' quality means guests will keep reaching for more, while the complex spice and fruit profile gives wine lovers something interesting to discuss. The light body and refreshing acidity make it perfect for extended social drinking, and the boutique producer status adds an element of discovery that makes hosts look like they've found something special.
