While native to Italy (where it's known as primitivo), zinfandel is in a lot of ways North America's grape. The wines offer incredibly dense fruit which is developed to the point of being overtly rich. They are - and this doesn't really do it justice - full, luscious, and magnificent.

Why do we love this wine?
Jammy in all the right ways. Blueberries and blueberry seed taken to right to the edge of being stewed but refraining just enough. The acid presents as tart, rhubarb styling and ripe strawberries, perfectly marrying the bright intensity with the fruit sweetness. There is a distinct 'sun drenched' aspect, too - warmth and ripeness in every sip. This is such classic American zin, and from one of our favourite American producers to boot. As with most of our US imports, this is seriously limited, so don't hesitate.
