Why do we love this wine?

Our producer has built this beauty in an internationally appeasing style. What does that mean? Its fruity charms are beguilingly easy to appreciate. There’s strawberries and raspberries in abundance; charmingly fun and endlessly exciting. Graphitey tannin, herbaceous crunch and the beginnings of age-derived forest floor undergrowth. While this juicy little number is far from the end of its life, the enjoyment you'll get out of this now is second to none. If you’re looking for a pinot to please all sorts, this is the one for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

This wine is crafted in an 'internationally appealing style', meaning it balances the earthy, complex characteristics that serious wine lovers appreciate with the bright, fruity accessibility that newcomers enjoy. The combination of strawberry and raspberry fruit with graphitey tannins and forest floor notes creates a wine that can satisfy both casual sippers and experienced palates, making it perfect for dinner parties or mixed company.

The Yarra Valley's cool climate is ideal for producing elegant Pinot Noir with the perfect balance of fruit intensity and structural complexity. This region's unique terroir contributes to the wine's graphitey tannin structure and herbaceous elements, while the cooler temperatures preserve the bright acidity that makes the strawberry and raspberry flavours so vibrant and food-friendly.

While this wine shows early signs of beautiful development with emerging forest floor undergrowth, it's absolutely singing right now and offers maximum enjoyment when consumed soon. The 2019 vintage has reached that sweet spot where the fruit is still vibrant but complexity is building, making it perfect for immediate drinking rather than extended cellaring.

The wine's light body and bright fruit profile make it incredibly versatile with food. The sour cherry and spice notes complement roasted chicken, duck, or salmon beautifully, while the vanilla undertones pair wonderfully with mushroom dishes. The herbaceous crunch also makes it an excellent match for charcuterie boards or aged cheeses, particularly those with earthy, nutty characteristics.

The consistent 90-point scores across 'Killer Vintage', 'From the Cellar', and 'Mofo Fave Producer' categories indicate this is an exceptional wine that excels in multiple areas - vintage quality, cellaring potential, and producer reputation. These ratings suggest you're getting premium quality at what's likely a very competitive price point, especially given it's featured as a 'Black Market Deal'.
