Mornington’s cool climate is on full display here; bright red-fruited lift and fine, subtle structure. Gentle handling and measured oak deployment keep the style clean and focused, but still offerig breadth through the mid palate.

Don't worry, try one of these

Why do we love this wine?

Red plum, cherry and blue-fruit notes lead, opening into earth and light spice. The palate is supple with fine, persistent tannins. A savoury undertone adds depth. The finish is long and quietly textural. Load up on this one, it's a delight to drink now but the palate weight, structure, and complexity put it in good stead to cellar well. A knockout drop from one of the regions very best.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Mornington Peninsula's cool maritime climate and diverse soil types create perfect conditions for elegant Pinot Noir. The region's proximity to Port Phillip Bay moderates temperatures, allowing for slow ripening that preserves the delicate red fruit flavours like raspberry and strawberry found in this wine. This terroir produces the lighter, more refined style that Pinot Noir is celebrated for.

Serve this wine slightly chilled at 14-16°C to enhance its fresh berry characteristics and elegant structure. The lighter body means it won't overpower delicate dishes - try it with roasted chicken, salmon, or mushroom risotto. Decanting isn't necessary, but opening 30 minutes before serving allows the sour cherry and raspberry notes to fully express themselves.

The raspberry, sour cherry, and strawberry profile makes this wine incredibly food-friendly. The natural acidity complements duck breast with cherry sauce, while the lighter tannins won't clash with delicate preparations like herb-crusted lamb or grilled tuna. For cheese, try it with soft-ripened varieties like camembert that won't overwhelm the wine's elegant fruit character.

As a 2025 vintage with an elegant, lighter style, this Pinot Noir is designed for early enjoyment while the bright fruit flavours are at their peak. Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noirs typically develop beautifully over 3-5 years, gaining complexity while maintaining their characteristic finesse. Drink now for vibrant fruit expression, or cellar for 2-3 years to develop more savoury, earthy notes.

Tucks Estate's elegant, lighter approach reflects the Mornington Peninsula's cooler climate philosophy, producing wines with more restraint than warmer regions like Adelaide Hills or Yarra Valley. The emphasis on fresh red fruit over darker, more intense flavours showcases the maritime influence that makes Peninsula Pinot Noir distinctive. This style appeals to those seeking finesse over power in their red wines.
