Standish doesn't make a lot of wine. They make exactly what the site tells them to, and people have been fighting over bottles ever since Dan Standish started the label back in 1999. Lamella comes off Eden Valley specifically - more lift, a mineral edge, and a structural precision you don't always get from warmer Barossa fruit.

Why do we love this wine?
Whole-bunch complexity runs through the whole thing, layering fruit and spice over tannin that's doing serious, deliberate work. Low-intervention winemaking, single vineyard, and a producer with a reputation for letting the site speak rather than engineering a result. The 2024 release is exactly that - power held with real precision, terroir on full display rather than dressed up or disguised. This is the kind of Shiraz people hunt down on release and talk about for years afterwards.
