Why do we love this wine?
This 2023 primitivo (often called zinfandel outside of Italy) captures sun-baked Puglian intensity with bold black cherry, plum compote and blackberry jam, backed by sweet spice, vanilla and cocoa. Lush and generous with velvety tannins, ripe dark fruit and warming finish. Old vines on clay-limestone soils, careful vinification with short oak aging delivers modern polish on traditionally powerful fruit. Pair it with a Sunday roast, grilled chops or a slab of aged cheddar - this is red wine comfort food at its finest. Drink it now, or let it develop in the cellar for a few years. Either way, it’s a belter.
