Tabali Talinay Pinot Noir 2019
- Textured, savoury
- Chile
We’re ecstatic about Tabalí here at the ‘Fo. Once we tasted the range, we were smitten. They have three main vineyards spanning the width of the narrow country of Chile.
Profile
It’s time to stand up and take notice of Chilean pinot noir (if you haven’t already). This example came from the Talinay vineyard, a tiny plot located 12kms from the Pacific Ocean and nestled adjacent to Fray Jorge National Park. The soil is fractured limestone with calcium carbonate, providing exceptional drainage and imparting chalky minerality in the wine. Hand-harvested fruit is 65% destemmed and 35% whole cluster fermented. One full year in top-notch French oak rounds out the process ahead of bottling. The wine is vivid in colour, complex, fresh and bright. You’ll find stoney notes, red fruits, earthiness, and a creamy texture. Check out The Wine Advocate's review below if you want to be sold.
Full price $70.00 from the producer.
