18 years of graceful development on a Barossa Shiraz of this calibre is a beautiful thing. What was once a powerfully structured, firm and concentrated young wine has evolved into something considerably more compelling - still powerful, but silky, sophisticated and deeply satisfying, while still carrying all the grunt and presence that makes Barossa Shiraz so special.

Why do we love this wine?
This one comes from one of the most important names in the entire history of Australian wine, full stop. It's no surprise we've ended up with an absolute belter of a wine! Deep, saturated and inky in the glass. Blackberry, blood plum and blue fruits on the nose, with dark chocolate, mocha and a savoury spice complexity building underneath. The palate is full-bodied and rich, with fine chalky tannins that have softened beautifully over time and a finish of impressive length and texture. Powerful but perfectly balanced. Drink it now with something substantial from the grill - this one's done the hard yard already!
