Tim Smith isn't your average winemaker. And this isn't your average wine. Roughly four decades into his pursuit of purity and power in the Barossa - this Reserve Shiraz is the result of all of that experience in one bottle. Full-bodied, ripe, spicy and light on its feet, all at once. Complex, but far from inaccessible, this is the wine to bring if you're looking to impress.

Why do we love this wine?
The fruit comes from seven vineyards across the Barossa floor and Eden Valley, including two parcels from vines pushing past a century old - vines that have historically fed some of the region's biggest commercial Shiraz brands. Now they're going into Tim's small, hands-on winery instead. Deep crimson in the glass, with ripe red and dark berry fruit, charry oak, spice and a whisper of liquorice on the nose. Full-bodied and plush, layered with blackberry, dark cherry, chocolate and liquorice, carried by fine, well-integrated tannins through to a finish that just keeps building. Serious Barossa Shiraz, made by a serious character. Genuinely punches above its weight.

Crafted by the ever-charismatic Tim Smith; the drummer, Baron of the Barossa and Harley-riding winemaker with nearly four decades of experience, this Reserve Barossa Shiraz is a standout. It carries that unmistakable signature of someone who has spent a lifetime chasing purity and power in the heart of the Barossa. Deep bright crimson in the glass, it announces itself with immediate concentration. The aroma is spectacular with ripe red berries and dark cherries leaping from the glass, intertwined with charry oak, fine spices and a subtle lick of liquorice. There is real lift and energy here. On the palate it is full-bodied, plush and wonderfully complete. Layers of ripe blackberry, dark cherry and red berry fruit roll across a core of sweet, spicy oak, dark chocolate and liquorice. The texture is luxurious with fine, well-integrated tannins providing structure and length. The wine builds and builds, finishing with incredible persistence and a savoury, mouth-coating depth that just keeps going. This is a serious, high-quality Barossa Shiraz that punches well above its weight. It's generous, complex and utterly delicious. Vino Masters Score: 97/100 ★★★★★ An exceptional Barossa Shiraz with stunning fruit purity, luxurious texture and a finish that seems to go on forever. Outstanding.
