Don't worry, try one of these

Why do we love this wine?

From the prized southern part of the sun-drenched Barossa, steeped in quality grown shiraz (you know we’ve done the research). It’s right here, where the surrounding views offer the picture-perfect painting; a diversity of colours from the tree leaves to the soils, which in turn give our favourite grape - shiraz. A blend of hand-selected low-yielding parcels, you’ll find generous flavours of black fruit, olive and pepper spice, backed by silky tannins, yet the wine is intense on the palate, with a great depth and length.

Frequently Asked Questions

This wine comes from the prized southern Barossa region, where the diverse soils and microclimates create exceptional growing conditions for Shiraz. The hand-selected, low-yielding parcels ensure concentrated flavours, while the blend showcases the region's signature intensity with black fruit, olive tapenade, and pepper spice characteristics. The combination of silky tannins with full-bodied depth demonstrates the masterful balance that southern Barossa is renowned for producing.

With scores of 96 points from Wine Orbit and dual 95-point ratings from Wine Pilot and Wine Showcase, this Shiraz sits in the exceptional quality tier that wine critics reserve for outstanding examples. These consistently high scores across multiple respected publications indicate remarkable winemaking skill and vintage quality. The Gold Medal from Wine Showcase Magazine further validates its excellence among peer wines in competitive tastings.

The wine's rich chocolate, plum, and vanilla flavours make it perfect for hearty dishes like grilled lamb with rosemary, aged beef steaks, or slow-cooked beef bourguignon. The pepper spice notes complement game meats beautifully, while the silky tannins won't overpower dishes with earthy mushrooms or aged hard cheeses. For vegetarian options, try it with grilled eggplant or rich lentil dishes that can match its intensity.

While this Shiraz is absolutely delicious now, showing beautiful integration of its chocolate and vanilla oak with ripe plum fruit, it has the structure to age gracefully for 8-12 years. The silky tannins and full-bodied nature suggest it will develop more complex tertiary flavours like leather, tobacco, and dried herbs over time. If you enjoy fruit-forward wines, drink it within the next 3-4 years; for more savoury complexity, cellar it for 5-8 years.

Low-yielding parcels produce fewer grapes per vine, which concentrates the flavours and creates more intense, complex wines. When vines are stressed to produce less fruit, they channel more energy into developing rich, concentrated flavours in each grape rather than quantity. This viticultural approach is particularly effective in the Barossa's warm climate, where the combination of low yields and hand-selection ensures only the best fruit makes it into the final blend, resulting in the exceptional depth and length this wine displays.
