Why do we love this wine?

Yep - this wine is the real deal. For nearly 45 years, this well-known group of winemakers - industry leaders and lovers of all things food, wine and heritage, has been championing the beating heart of South Australia and the best it has to offer. Henschke, Langmeil Winery, Peter Lehmann Wines, Yalumba and Teusner Wines, are just some of the producers contributing their top notch fruit. The best parcels selected from some of the best vineyards throughout Barossa and Eden Valley are blended lovingly and expertly. A wine of this calibre and pedigree warrants clearing some space in your cellar and patience will be rewarded with a wine reminiscent of the greats who brought it to life. Crafted out of respect for the produce and a love of the region, this wine supports the vision of the Barossa Cellar - a not-for-profit community project aimed at preserving the heritage and viticultural brilliance of one of the most celebrated wine regions in the New World.  An assemblage of parcels made by 15 of the Barossa’s heroic winemakers and blended by four of their most famous and talented, this is a wine that captures the full sweep of glorious Barossa character in one bottle. Depth of black fruits unite with finely structured, enduring tannins to promise great potential and immediate satisfaction.

Frequently Asked Questions

This is an extraordinary collaborative effort featuring fruit from 15 of Barossa's most respected winemakers, including legendary producers like Henschke, Yalumba, and Peter Lehmann. The parcels are carefully selected from premium vineyards across both Barossa and Eden Valley, then expertly blended by four master winemakers. This unique assemblage approach captures the full spectrum of Barossa terroir in a single bottle, creating complexity and depth that individual vineyard expressions simply cannot achieve.

While this wine offers immediate satisfaction with its rich black fruit flavours and structured tannins, its premium pedigree and full-bodied nature suggest excellent cellaring potential of 10-15 years. The collaborative winemaking approach and quality fruit sources mean it will develop beautiful secondary characteristics like leather, tobacco, and earthy complexity over time. Given it's already 5-6 years old, you could enjoy it now or hold it for another decade to experience its full evolution.

The wine's rich blackcurrant and plum flavours, combined with spice notes and firm tannins, make it perfect for robust red meat dishes like grilled lamb, beef roasts, or barbecued steaks. The full-bodied structure can handle rich, flavourful preparations such as slow-cooked osso buco or game meats. For cheese pairings, try aged cheddar or blue cheese, as the wine's depth and complexity will complement strong, mature flavours beautifully.

This designation typically indicates exceptional value for a premium wine that might otherwise be priced much higher. Given the collaborative nature involving some of Australia's most prestigious winemakers and the quality fruit sources from renowned Barossa vineyards, this represents outstanding value. The 6-pack format also suggests cellar-worthy quantities at a price point that makes premium Barossa Shiraz accessible to serious wine enthusiasts who understand its true worth.

The Barons of Barossa represents a prestigious collective of industry leaders who have championed South Australian winemaking for nearly 45 years, focusing on heritage preservation and viticultural excellence. This group supports the Barossa Cellar, a not-for-profit community project dedicated to maintaining the region's winemaking traditions and celebrating its status as one of the New World's most important wine regions. Their collaborative approach ensures that traditional Barossa winemaking knowledge and techniques are preserved while creating wines that showcase the region's full potential.
