Why do we love this wine?
From the mid of one of McLaren Vale's most proficient winemakers, with over fifteen years in bottle, this is the exact drinking window it was built for. Everything's locked into place - nothing holding back, nothing left to develop. This is Australian Shiraz at its most detailed, most complex and most rewarding. Opaque, inky black crimson in the glass, with ripe blackberry, dark plum and dark chocolate on the nose, backed by liquorice and spice. The palate's full-bodied and dense, flooded with blackberry and plum, more liquorice, toasty oak and spice running underneath. Superb concentration throughout, with tannins so fine-grained and well-integrated you barely register them as tannin, leading into an aftertaste of blackberry, chocolate, liquorice and spice that lingers almost as long as the memory of the first sip.
