This is a genuine family operation run by sixth-generation Barossa winemaker James Rosenzweig since 1999, with three generations currently working together. Unlike corporate labels that often source grapes from various regions or import juice, Rosenvale represents authentic Barossa heritage where the family grows their own grapes and maintains complete control over winemaking. This hands-on approach allows for the meticulous attention to detail that produces the wine's exceptional 95-point quality and distinctive character.

The 2021 vintage earned a 'Killer Vintage' rating, indicating exceptional growing conditions that year in the Barossa. This vintage showcases the perfect balance between Barossa's warm climate and ideal seasonal conditions, resulting in concentrated blackberry and blackcurrant flavours with excellent structural integrity. The wine demonstrates how great vintages allow Shiraz to express both power and elegance, with the tannin structure suggesting excellent ageing potential over the next 10-15 years.

The wine's rich blackberry fruit, spice notes, and robust tannin structure make it ideal for hearty red meat dishes like grilled lamb, beef steaks, or slow-cooked braised meats. The vanilla and nutty characteristics from oak ageing complement dishes with earthy flavours such as mushroom risotto or aged hard cheeses.
