Yarra pinot at its absolute best. Layered with notes of blackforest cake, violets and crushed rose, white strawberry and maraschino cherry. It's hard to stop after the first taste, but make sure you savour every drop.

Why do we love this wine?

Single vineyard pinot noir, from a true Yarra Valley darling. What a delight! Philip Rich said this is "one to cellar" in his review for the Halliday Wine Companion, rounding it off with that whopping 96pt score. Now if that's not an advertisement for this wine, I don't know what is. This producer does everything by hand, the oak is always French, the fruit is always pristine, and the wines are always sophisticated. Go on, brag to your friends and family about getting your hands on this one- it's worth it.

Frequently Asked Questions

The 96-point Halliday Wine Companion score reflects the exceptional quality of this single vineyard Yarra Valley Pinot Noir. Philip Rich specifically noted it as 'one to cellar', indicating the wine has excellent structure and ageing potential. The combination of pristine fruit selection, hand-crafted winemaking, and French oak maturation creates the sophisticated complexity that critics and collectors seek in premium Australian Pinot Noir.

Yarra Valley's cool climate and diverse soil types create perfect conditions for Pinot Noir, allowing the grape to develop its characteristic elegance and complexity. The region's temperature variations between day and night help preserve the delicate aromatics and bright acidity that define great Pinot Noir. This particular single vineyard expression showcases how site-specific terroir can elevate Pinot Noir to international standards, competing with renowned regions like Burgundy.

Serve this medium-bodied Pinot Noir slightly below room temperature (14-16°C) to highlight its cherry and redcurrant flavours while allowing the rose petal aromatics to shine. The textured, savoury profile makes it excellent with duck, lamb, or mushroom-based dishes where the wine's complexity won't be overwhelmed. The French oak integration and sophisticated structure also make it perfect for contemplative sipping alongside aged cheeses.

The 2023 vintage has been rated as a 'Killer Vintage', indicating exceptional growing conditions that year. Cool climate regions like Yarra Valley often produce their finest Pinot Noirs in years with balanced rainfall and moderate temperatures, allowing for slow, even ripening. This vintage timing, combined with the producer's meticulous hand-crafted approach, has resulted in a wine that Philip Rich believes worthy of cellaring for future enjoyment.

Single vineyard wines come from grapes grown in one specific location, allowing the unique characteristics of that particular site's soil, climate, and elevation to be fully expressed. This approach requires exceptional vineyard management and often results in more distinctive, terroir-driven wines compared to regional blends. For this Pinot Noir, the single vineyard designation means you're tasting the pure expression of one exceptional Yarra Valley site, crafted by a producer known for their attention to detail.
