Gun to my head, this is one of my favourite Yarra Valley producers. The wines are crafted so skilfully that they last seemingly forever (trust me, I jump at anything back vintage they offer and the wines are always a hit).

Don't worry, try one of these

Why do we love this wine?

Yarra Valley pinot noir is rare enough in and of itself. Yarra Valley pinot noir that knocks our socks off, well that's another story all together. This has broad, juicy berries right at the fore and the plushness flows right through. There is crushed cranberries, tart red cherries, sappy raspberries, and so much more; the fruit profile evolves and shifts shape in the glass. Mushroom umami and earthy depth chime in late adding another facet to the already complex and endless intriguing palate. This is, above all else, completely charming pinot - I cannot get enough of it (literally, we'll sell out immediately). Buy it. Drink it. Enjoy it.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Yarra Valley's cool climate and diverse soil types create ideal conditions for Pinot Noir, producing wines with exceptional elegance and complexity. This region is renowned for its ability to craft Pinot Noir that balances fruit intensity with earthy sophistication, making it one of Australia's premier cool-climate wine regions. The valley's elevation and temperature variations allow for slow ripening, developing the nuanced flavour profiles that Pinot Noir is famous for.

Serve this wine slightly chilled at 14-16°C to enhance its delicate fruit characteristics and maintain its elegant structure. Decanting for 30 minutes will allow the complex berry and earthy notes to fully express themselves. The wine's light body and evolving flavour profile make it perfect for slow sipping, where you can appreciate how the taste transforms in the glass over time.

The wine's mushroom umami and earthy depth make it exceptional with roasted duck, grilled salmon, or mushroom risotto. Its bright acidity and berry fruit complement charcuterie boards and aged cheeses beautifully. The wine's elegant, lighter style also pairs wonderfully with herb-crusted lamb or even hearty vegetarian dishes featuring roasted vegetables and earthy flavours.

This 2019 Pinot Noir is drinking beautifully now, showcasing vibrant fruit and developing complexity that makes it irresistible in its current state. While Pinot Noir can age gracefully for 5-8 years, this wine's immediate charm and evolving palate suggest it's at a perfect drinking window. The balance between fresh fruit and emerging earthy characteristics indicates optimal maturity for current enjoyment.

Black Market Deals typically indicate exceptional value wines where the producer prefers to remain anonymous, often due to contractual obligations with other distributors. This allows wine lovers to access premium quality at significantly reduced prices. The 'Rewrapped' designation suggests this is a high-quality wine being offered under a different label, giving you access to what could be a much more expensive bottle at a fraction of the usual cost.
