Why do we love this wine?
This is a producer we love, a varietal we adore, and a region with a global reputation - what's not to love? Nothing, as it turns out. This is excellent in every way. Red cherries and sappy rhubarb mix with spice, fennel, and pepper. The tannin structure is quite open stitch, making for a soft, luxurious mouthfeel. The acid feels brand new; plenty of freshness and pickup left in the tank. This is a 2018 (iconic Yarra Valley vintage, by the way) pinot with a way to go. Dig in, pinot loving mofos, this ones for you.
