We can't tell you who made this. But here's what we can tell you - the family behind it are as close to Coonawarra royalty as it gets. The region's story cannot be told without them, and this single-vineyard Cabernet is where they pour everything they know into something deeply personal and genuinely extraordinary.

Why do we love this wine?
Like any of this producer's top Cabernets, you expect this to be structured and composed, this is all of that but extra vibrant and expressive - blood plum, forest berries and sweet toasted oak on the nose, with an energy and immediacy that pulls you in from the very first sniff. The same obsessive attention to quality. The same single-vineyard integrity. An entirely different personality. Drink it now with something off the grill and be completely delighted. Or put it away for a few years and watch it develop into something completely unique. From one of Coonawarra's founding families. In a wine that shows exactly why this region is so special.

The Nightfall series is Sam Brand’s flagship collection. Pretty sure that Sam only releases them from the best vintages as the last one I recall was from the excellent 2022 harvest. 2024 is another superb year for the region. If memory serves, as good as the 2022 was, this one pips it. Deep blood red with a magenta rim, we have spices, herbs, tomato bush notes, tobacco leaves, coffee beans, chocolate, leather, aniseed and blackberries on the nose. A fleshy style, there is excellent oak integration throughout, good focus and a seamless structure through to fine, powdery tannins. A line of juicy acidity adds to the energy and there is impressive length. Enjoy this over the next fifteen to twenty years.
