Why do we love this wine?

A light-medium body, brimming with strawberry, cherries and fresh cut herbs, this is a really lovely wine, with particularly elegant tannins. Sappy sour cherry gives way to lush fruit and generous palate weight. We rarely get our hands on Burgs, so they never stick around long when we do - we recommend you act fast and stock up!

Frequently Asked Questions

This Burgundy showcases the classic elegance that makes the region legendary - particularly refined tannins and a beautiful balance between bright red fruit and earthy complexity. Unlike New World Pinot Noirs that often emphasise bold fruit, this wine demonstrates the restrained, terroir-driven style that Burgundy is famous for. The combination of strawberry and cherry with fresh herbs reflects the cool climate and limestone-rich soils of the region.

Serve this Burgundy slightly below room temperature (around 16-18°C) to highlight its elegant structure and fruit clarity. The medium body and savoury elements make it incredibly food-friendly - try it with roasted chicken, duck breast, or mushroom risotto. The wine's textural qualities and herb notes also complement aged cheeses beautifully, while the bright acidity cuts through richer dishes without overwhelming delicate flavours.

This 2022 vintage is drinking beautifully now, showing lovely fruit expression and well-integrated tannins that suggest careful winemaking. While Burgundy can age gracefully, this particular style seems crafted for near-term enjoyment when the fresh fruit and herbal notes are at their peak. If you do choose to cellar some bottles, expect the wine to develop more earthy, forest floor characteristics over the next 3-5 years.

A 4.0 Vivino rating places this wine in the 'very good' category, reflecting strong approval from everyday wine drinkers rather than just critics. This rating suggests the wine offers excellent value and accessibility - important qualities since Burgundy can sometimes be intimidating or overpriced. The rating indicates this bottle successfully balances the sophistication Burgundy lovers expect with the approachability that makes it enjoyable for a broader audience.

Burgundy production is notoriously limited due to the region's small vineyard plots and strict appellation rules, making quality bottles relatively scarce in the market. Additionally, Burgundy has an almost cult-like following among wine enthusiasts who quickly snap up good value bottles when they appear. The combination of limited supply and high demand means that when a well-priced, quality Burgundy like this becomes available, it typically sells out much faster than wines from larger production regions.
