Pinot noir fruit off an extremely sought-after vineyard, from a 9/10 Halliday graded vintage, in the hands of Yarra winemaking royalty... it'd be a shock if this wine turned out any different to how it did: exceptional.

Don't worry, try one of these

Why do we love this wine?

Long before Lone Star Creek began producing their own wines, they were supplying grapes to some of the Yarra's heaviest hitters. It's this intricate understanding of the land, climate and conditions that allows for the production of wines like this: Perfumed and nuanced, this is simply gorgeous. Dense red and black cherries, strawberries, toasty oak, soft tannins and a beautifully spiced finish. This is as Upper Yarra as it gets, the concentration and brightness of the fruit are one thing, the savoury spice and lingering tannin are another thing entirely. Drink now for pristine, pure Yarra pinot. Drink in 5 years for complex, savoury, earthy goodness.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Upper Yarra Valley's cool climate and elevation create ideal conditions for Pinot Noir, producing wines with exceptional concentration and brightness. Lone Star Creek's deep understanding of their terroir - gained from years of supplying grapes to premium Yarra producers - allows them to craft wines that perfectly express the region's signature balance of pristine fruit and savoury complexity. The result is a wine that captures the essence of what makes Yarra Valley Pinot Noir world-renowned.

Serve this Pinot Noir slightly chilled at 14-16°C to highlight its elegant, perfumed character and bright fruit flavours. The light-bodied nature and soft tannins make it incredibly food-friendly - pair it with roasted duck, mushroom risotto, or aged cheeses to complement the wine's savoury spice notes. Decanting isn't necessary for immediate drinking, but allowing it to breathe for 30 minutes will help the complex aromatics fully develop.

This 2023 vintage offers two distinct drinking windows that showcase different personalities. Drink it now to experience the pristine, pure fruit expression with vibrant cherry and berry flavours at their peak freshness. Alternatively, cellar it for 5 years to develop complex, savoury, earthy characteristics as the tannins integrate and secondary flavours emerge. This evolution from bright fruit-driven to complex and savoury is a hallmark of quality Yarra Valley Pinot Noir.

The wine's elegant, lighter style and savoury spice finish make it exceptionally versatile with food. Classic pairings include roasted chicken, salmon, or pork tenderloin, while the berry flavours complement game birds beautifully. The soft tannins and bright acidity also work wonderfully with mushroom-based dishes, truffle pasta, or mature hard cheeses like aged cheddar or gruyere, where the wine's earthy undertones can shine.

Beat The Clock deals typically offer premium wines at exceptional prices for a limited time, making this an opportunity to access quality Yarra Valley Pinot Noir at below-market rates. Given Lone Star Creek's reputation as a grape supplier to top Yarra producers and the wine's aging potential, this represents excellent value for both immediate enjoyment and cellaring. The 2023 vintage's youth means you're getting the wine at its optimal price point before it appreciates with age.
