Why do we love this wine?
This is the kind of Super Tuscan that usually gets snapped up before it leaves the cellar. Half sangiovese, half merlot, 100% charm. Plush dark fruit, spicy depth and the kind of polish you'd expect from these sought-after wines, without the price point. Deep ruby in the glass with violet reflections, it leads with blackberry, plum and red cherry, then folds in pepper, sweet tobacco, and a little Tuscan earth for good measure. The tannins are present but polished, wrapping the fruit in a soft, silky frame. Beautifully structured and persistent as hell on the finish. Exactly what you want with slow-cooked meats or mushroom risotto.
