La Posta Pizzella Malbec 2021

The Pizzella vineyard sits at approximately 1000 metres elevation in Mendoza, which creates a longer ripening season and more concentrated flavours than lower-altitude vineyards. The combination of oak and stainless steel treatment post-fermentation preserves the fruit purity while adding structural complexity. This high-altitude terroir produces wines with greater intensity and aging potential than many commercial Argentine Malbecs.

This 2021 Malbec is drinking beautifully now with its vibrant plum and black cherry characteristics, but it's built for aging. The wine's full-bodied structure and balanced oak treatment suggest it will develop graphite and meaty secondary flavours over the next 5-8 years. Store it in a cool, dark place at consistent temperature, and expect the wine to show increasing complexity through 2030.

La Posta is part of Laura Catena's artisan brand Luca, making this wine connected to Argentina's most prestigious winemaking dynasty. Laura represents the fourth generation of Catenas growing Malbec, bringing decades of family expertise to this project. While maintaining the Catena commitment to quality, La Posta focuses on single-vineyard expressions that showcase specific terroir characteristics.
