This is a silky, flavourful, fruit-forward Grenache, we're loving it. Most of this fruit comes off McLaren Flat, with one parcel pulled from vines pushing 90 years old - the kind of age that generally makes everything taste a bit more serious without anyone having to really do anything. A great little wine.

Why do we love this wine?
In the glass you're getting plump raspberry, deep cherry, a streak of redcurrant and a hint of baking spice - properly generous, a bit darker and broader than most 2023s from the region, which McLaren Flat has a habit of doing anyway. Texturally it's plush without trying too hard, held up by fine, well-behaved tannin and a lively thread of acidity keeping it honest. Seven months in older French oak means the wood's barely a factor - this is all about the fruit staying clear and true to itself. Genuinely excellent drinking, and priced like they haven't quite noticed how good it is yet.
