This is a particularly cleverly made wine. When creating a hearty, powerful grenache it's easy to get carried away, you could over-oak it, allow it to over-ripen, even leave on skins for too long. None of that has taken place here, the grunt and grip are based in the fruit its self, concentrated and rich but vibrant and bright, the oak plays a supporting role and elevates the natural spice of the grape. Dark and brooding on the nose with deep dark fruits and bright raspberry-like acidity. The pillowy tannins linger on the finish and place this wine firmly on the menu with any red meat or rich veggie delights!
