The SR806 is the most approachable wine in Eisenstone’s 2022 line-up, but still speaks clearly of its site and sub-region. This'll age beautifully, that's not in doubt, but unlike some of Eisenstone's other pieces - you can drink this one NOW!

Why do we love this wine?
From the creekside block of a revitalised Moppa vineyard, this is a full-on Barossa shiraz with depth and class. Dark cherry, mulberry and spice sit on a bright frame, with subtle earthy tones and oak in perfect balance. Classy, charming and ready to drink. It spent 20 months in French oak (half new), but the oak’s integrated, not showy. It’s all about dark cherry, mulberry and a flicker of savoury spice, with earthy tones and supple tannins rounding things out. The kind of wine that doesn’t need a decade to shine - but it’s got the bones to handle it if you want to wait.

Halliday Wine Companion
Sourced from the Richardson vineyard on the border of Greenock and Moppa in the northwest of the Barossa, matured in French oak (50% new) for 20 months. Classic northern fruit density and oomphh here with deep blackberry, satsuma plum and black cherry fruits with a touch of boysenberry. Hints of clove, oak-derived wood spice, cedar, choc-mint, licorice, brandied fruits, eucalyptus and dark chocolate. The oak influence seems a little stronger here but that fruit is just lovely. The fine tannins melt away and the fruit purity is off the charts.
