This premium Barossa shiraz comes from one of those addresses that makes Barossa fans sit up straight and take notice. Roennfeldt Road in Marananga is the real deal - an old, respected strip of dirt that’s humbly responsible for some of the greatest wines Australia has ever offered. And this bottle wears that pedigree proudly.

Why do we love this wine?

Only 800 bottles were made, and you can feel the intent straight away. When you first pour this beauty it’s deep and inky, right what we're looking for, then the aromatics start rolling in - black cherry, blackcurrant, mocha, dark chocolate, clove and a savoury edge. There’s oak in the mix, sure, but it’s handled with a steady hand and never steals the spotlight. On the palate, it’s all drive and depth. Powerful fruit, superb balance, and soft, almost velvety tannins that keep everything flowing. The finish stretches out beautifully, making this yet another classic Barossa bruiser that you'll be tasting long after the wine's washed down that scotch fillet.

Ken Gargett

Roennfeldt Road in the Marananga sub-region of the Barossa is a bit legndary and it is home to the vineyard providing the grapes for this absolute star Barossa Shiraz. From a wonderful vintage, the wine is matured in French oak, half of it new, for 20 months. 800 bottles. Inky maroon hue, the nose swirls about a weave of aromas, including chocolate, molten dark rich chocolate, black cherries, mocha, soy, cloves and blackcurrants. Deft oak handling here, as it is across the range. A wine of drive, balance, and intensity and great length. There are soft, almost slurry-like tannins. This is still so young, but what a promising future ahead of it. Enjoy over the next 10 to 15 years.
