Don't worry, try one of these

Why do we love this wine?

The vineyard sits on limestone-rich slopes in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune, where the elevation and drainage produce pinot noir of genuine elegance and minerality. Every grape hand-harvested, carefully sorted, and treated with the kind of respect that only people who genuinely love what they do can manage. In the glass it's everything good Burgundy should be - fragrant wild red and dark fruit, a mineral backbone that gives it real tension and focus, and a silky, finely structured palate that finishes clean and long. This isn't a wine that shouts. It doesn't need to, it just lets you figure out that it is, in fact, a very, very, very good wine. Charcuterie, soft cheese, roast chicken or a quiet evening with something worth thinking about. All excellent companions.

Bright red fruits and floral lift meet a more structured and powerful style, layered with smoky complexity. Charry oak, firm tannins, black plum, and blackcurrant fruits create a meaty, flavour-packed Pinot Noir with impressive depth and fine-grained oak structure. A chewy and deeply satisfying wine built for a long evening. Vino Masters Score: 97/100 ★★★★★ Structured • Smoky • Powerful

Frequently Asked Questions

Hautes Côtes de Beaune sits at higher elevations on the hillsides above the famous Côte de Beaune, creating a cooler microclimate that produces more delicate, mineral-driven wines. This positioning allows for excellent value Burgundy that captures the region's terroir character without the premium pricing of the grand cru vineyards below. The cooler conditions help preserve the natural acidity in Pinot Noir, creating wines with excellent ageing potential and food-pairing versatility.

The 2024 vintage represents the very latest expression of this terroir, offering wine enthusiasts a chance to experience Burgundian Pinot Noir at its freshest. Young Burgundy often displays more primary fruit characteristics alongside earthy undertones, which will evolve and integrate beautifully over the next 5-8 years. This vintage timing means you're getting wine that's just beginning its flavour development journey, perfect for both immediate enjoyment and cellar ageing.

The combination of earthy mushroom notes and bright strawberry fruit makes this wine exceptionally food-friendly, particularly with dishes that bridge rustic and refined flavours. Think roasted duck with cherry sauce, wild mushroom risotto, or aged hard cheeses like Comté or Gruyère. The medium body and earthy character also complement game birds, herb-crusted lamb, or even hearty vegetarian dishes featuring roasted root vegetables and fresh herbs.

The 'Père et Fils' designation indicates this is indeed a father-and-son operation, representing the multi-generational winemaking tradition that defines authentic Burgundy. These family domaines typically maintain smaller vineyard holdings and employ traditional winemaking methods passed down through generations, resulting in wines that truly express their specific terroir. Such producers often focus on quality over quantity, hand-harvesting their grapes and using minimal intervention techniques to showcase the natural character of their vineyards.

While this medium-bodied Pinot Noir doesn't require extensive decanting like heavier reds, a brief 30-minute breathing period will help open up the earthy and fruit characteristics. Young Burgundy can sometimes appear tight when first opened, and gentle aeration allows the strawberry notes to emerge while softening any initial tannins. Serve slightly below room temperature (around 16-18°C) to maintain the wine's elegant structure and prevent the alcohol from overwhelming the delicate fruit and earth balance.
