This is classic Burgundy with a little extra altitude and a lot of extra attitude. The Hautes-Côtes-de-Nuits sits just above the famous Côte de Nuits, stretching west from the Corton Forest up towards Gevrey-Chambertin. Vineyards here sit high - 300 to 400 metres above sea level - which means cooler nights, slower ripening and beautifully fresh, fragrant fruit.

Why do we love this wine?
The soils here are classic clay-limestone, born from marl and ancient limestone, and they really show in the glass. Colour is bright with ruby flashes. On the nose, it’s all red fruits and gentle spice - clean, inviting and very Pinot. The palate is delicate and perfumed, backed by fine, well-behaved tannins. It’s balanced, nicely weighted and finishes fresh, with plenty of aromatic lift. In the winery, it’s all about patience and precision. After fermentation, the wine spends between 8 and 16 months maturing - mostly in tank to keep things pure and fruit-forward, with around 30% seeing barrel and about a quarter of that new oak. Wonderfully done.
