Here's an Australian tempranillo giving the people exactly what we want. Shaped by a top-notch vintage, it lands squarely in that sweet spot between bright, juicy and quietly serious. Medium-bodied, super drinkable, and full of personality. This is the sort of red you open because you feel like a glass… and then realise the bottle’s empty. Just super yummy.

Why do we love this wine?

Red cherry and raspberry are front and centre, with a little spice and dried herb whispering in the background to keep things interesting. On the palate it’s lively and smooth, the fruit gliding along before dipping into slightly darker, savoury territory as it rolls toward the finish. Fresh, energetic and very hard to put down. Delicious now, but will happily develop over the next few years. Proof that Australian tempranillo absolutely deserves more airtime.

Review

Wine Pilot

"An excellent vintage has produced a thoroughly beautiful example of Tempranillo. It’s medium weight and displays all of the beautiful cherry and raspberry notes you expect from this variety. A little spice, some dried herbs add further complexity to the nose, while the bright red fruits on the palate delve deep into the senses and carry slightly darker fruit characters through to the finish. It’s so vibrant and fresh, and a delightful wine for drinking in the medium term. 95 Points." - Ray Jordan
